City: Landstuhl

City: Landstuhl

City: Idar-Oberstein
The backround is of the city after we climbed way up to the side of a mountain.

City: Idar-Oberstein
Behind us is a castle...and the reason why we climbed the mountain.

City: Baumholder
This is a Doner shop (a Doner is a sandwich) and this place makes the best ones in all of Germany...so far.

This is the sign outside of the Donor shop

This is the cigarette machine inside of the shop.  Cigarette machines are everywhere in Germany, almost on every corner and definatly in almost every bar.

This is a little piece of the artwork inside of the shop, I took this for you Mom.

This is right outside of post in Baumholder.  This is a super nice movie theater with a huge lounge area inside to relax in while you wait for your movie to start.

This is our view from out hotel in Ramstein Air Force base.  Man, the Air Force has it nice.

This is my first shot of real Absinth.  I had it at a little cafe and bar names Vis a' Vis.

This is a picture of our movie tickets from the Broadway Kino.  You will notice that it says English on it.  This place plays movies in English and in German.

This is the rose my hubby bought for me from a cute little old man that was going around all the bars when we were in Baumholder selling fresh cut roses.

Back to the Absinth...the process goes like this: you take a spoon full of sugar (sounds sweet huh...NOT) and dip it into the Absinth and place it on the shot glass(full of sugar and Absinth) like so...

...then you light it on fire, and have it stay lit until the sugar starts to carmelize, once this lovely step is complete then you blow it out and stir it in the shot until you have a clean spoon, and then you pull the spoon out.  Now on to the fun part, shoot it.  Oh it is a new kind of awful.

And this is the source.

This is the radio station that plays near Baumholder and Ramstein(on the westside/opposite side of Germany)  It is the best station around becasue they play a lot of American music.
Michael decided to "play" with Chango with his remote controlled bug (thanks again Mom).  He followed Chango around the living room for about 10min.  Chango was so freaked out by it...poor baby.

The rest is random

So Oso LOVES to be brushed.  I constantly have to clear the brush of hair and keep going, he jsut can't get enough.  I sat the hair aside along with the brush, and turned around for something and when I turned back around he had gotten up and moved over so that he could lay on the piles of his own fur.  Wierdo!

The kids

So thanks to thier grandma (thanks again Mom) the kids have a new home inside of our home.  They have it so good.

This is Oso sun bathing...his favorite hobby.

This is Chango in my closet...he is so nosey!

These animals were not in the petting zoo portion of the zoo.

Finally..

So I finally got off of my lazy butt and am going to post some new pictures.
Since the last post, we have moved.  The guy that owned the building that we were staying in was going to sell it as soon as 2 people moved out...we decided not to wait on the other 2 tenants and get out.  We Moved only 2 buildings down to a much nicer place with more counterspace, a bigger bathroom, and a bigger balcony.  I don't have pictures of the apartment yet because soon after we moved here we received all of out household goods and I still haven't unpacked it all yet.
Ok...so the first set of pictures are from when we went to the zoo in Nurnberg, which is about an hour away.  It was really pretty big, it took us about 5 hours to see all of the animals.
